Restore Your Smile & Confidence with Durable Dental Crowns in Noosa

What Are Dental Crowns and Why Might You Need One?

Dental crowns are custom-made caps that cover and protect damaged or weakened teeth. Whether it’s due to a large filling, root canal treatment, a cracked tooth, or general wear, crowns help restore the strength, function and appearance of your smile.

At Noosa Dental, we use high-quality materials to create crowns that look natural and blend seamlessly with your other teeth.

The Noosa Dental Difference: Our Approach to Dental Crowns

We believe in restoring teeth the right way - using strong, aesthetic materials and personalised care.

Our dentists take the time to understand your needs and use precise imaging to plan and deliver comfortable, accurate results. If you're nervous or unsure, we’ll talk you through each step and ensure you're at ease during the process. Our modern clinic and experienced team are here to support your long-term dental health.

The Dental Crown Process: What to Expect

Initial Consultation & Assessment

Your visit begins with a detailed exam and discussion of your symptoms or concerns. X-rays or scans may be taken to assess the tooth structure and determine its suitability for a crown. We will also determine if you are a candidate for our in-house, same-day crown option.

Tooth Preparation & Scanning

The tooth is gently shaped to make room for the crown. Instead of a traditional impression, we use a digital scanner to create a highly accurate 3D model of your prepared tooth. This model is then used to design your new crown right here in our office.

In-House Milling and Placement (Same-Day Crown)

For our in-house crowns (often using CEREC technology), the designed crown is immediately milled from a block of ceramic right in our office. This usually takes about an hour. Once the crown is polished and characterised, we'll permanently bond it into place in the same visit, checking for fit, bite, and comfort.

Note on Traditional Lab Crowns

While most of our crowns are created and placed in a single visit, in some cases (e.g., for specific materials or complex aesthetic requirements), a crown may still need to be made by an external dental lab. In this instance, a temporary crown will be placed, and you would return for a follow-up visit for the final placement.
